How to Wear Silk Scarves

There are so many different options when styling a silk scarf. They can be styled in dozens of ways including a headband or headwrap, multiple top styles, a skirt, and even as a mini bag! Of course there are the classic ways of wrapping them creatively around the neck for an added touch of style.

See below for instructions and style ideas!

Crop Top:

Fold the scarf in half to create a triangle. Wrap it around your torso so the two ends are in front and the top corner point down at your back. Knot the loose ends tightly in front twice to secure. Tuck the loose tied ends into the knot. Adjust as necessary.

Belt:

Fold the scarf in a triangle and then from the middle corner fold it back making the scarf the desired width for your belt. Can be worn with or without belt loops.

Headwrap:

Fold the scarf into a triangle. From the middle corner, roll the scarf back until you have the desired width. With one end of the scarf in each hand, place it behind your head and wrap the ends around your head towards your forehead. Tie the ends together tightly at your head. Twist the remaining loose ends together and then carefully wrap the twist around in a circle at the top. Tuck the ends underneath once you reach the end.

Headband:

Fold the scarf in a triangle and then roll up the scarf from the middle corner. Take each corner in a different hand and place the middle of the rolled up scarf behind your head by the nape of your neck. Wrap around to the front of your forehead and twist, then twist once more. Bring the ends to the back of your head and tie to secure.

Triangle Front Top:

Fold the scarf in half to make a triangle. With the triangle facing down, wrap the scarf around your chest so that the triangle is in the front. Tie the ends of the scarf in the back.

Mini Bag:

Create knots on all four corners starting about 6 inches from the edge. This should create four "bunny ears", one for each corner. Take two of the bunny ears and tie them together to make one strap. Next tie the other two bunny ears together to make the second strap.

One Shoulder Top:

Fold the scarf into a large triangle. Fold the triangle again and tie a knot with the two ends. Slide your head and one arm into the hole, so that the knotted part becomes your shoulder strap. Take the long end and wrap it around your back, all the way under your opposite arm to join the other end of the scarf. Tie the end that you wrapped around to the other side of the scarf, just under your armpit.

Halter Crop Top:

Fold the scarf in half to create a triangle. Wrap it around your torso so the two ends are in front and the top corner point down at your back. Cross the ends in front and knot behind your neck. Adjust as necessary.

Tie Front Top:

Fold the scarf in half to create a triangle. Wrap it around your torso so the two ends are in front and the top corner points down at your back. Knot the loose ends tightly in front twice to secure. Adjust as necessary.

Cowl Neck Top/Flowy Halter:

Hold the scarf by the two top corners. Tie the two top corners together and put over your head. Wrap the bottom two corners around your waist and back and tie to secure.
